My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pebbles is a 1.5 year old doxie mix who had 3 puppies in October and is now ready for a loving home of her own. She is so sweet! Pebbles would do well in a house with older children (at least 12yrs and older). Sudden movements and running around makes her a bit scared. She does well with cats and small dogs as long as they respect her space and let her play with them on her terms. Pebbles is shy with men, but she does come around, it takes time. She really loved all the females in the house right away and will stick next to you as you walk around the house. Pebbles is fully potty trained and trustworthy when left home alone. Pebbles is crate trained and will whine a little when in it but will settle down pretty fast. Her favorite spot to sleep has been above foster mom's pillow at night lately after some belly rubs. Pebbles does like to play with toys and will bring them back to you to throw. She is picky with her food and is currently on a mix of dry and wet. She is not leashed trained, and will need to be slowly trained on that.

More about this rescue

The Follow Your Heart Foundation is committed to preventing the unnecessary euthanization and abuse of abandoned and/or abused animals.

In order to fulfill this mission, Follow Your Heart will engage in the following activities:

Foster Program-Animals will be rescued from shelters and placed in temporary foster homes to save them from being euthanized. During this time, animals will be provided with proper nutrition, shelter and analysis to determine appropriate long term housing.

Adoption Services - the organization will work to find each animal that is rescued a forever home that is willing and able to make the long term commitment to a family pet.

Public Education - Abuse, neglect and irresponsible pet ownership leads to thousands of animals being killed each year. One way to combat these issues is through continued public education to not only raise awareness about animal abuse, but also promote responsible pet ownership.

Medical Treatment - Animals rescued will be provided proper medical treatment as needed.
