My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barry, an adorable 2 year old who’s 40 lbs of charm, is ready to be scooped up by his own person!

He was abandoned on the street and a Good Samaritan brought him to the shelter. We don’t know why he was left behind, but that’s in his past, and his caretakers and volunteers have erased all Barry’s negative memories. He is a very playful and loving dog.

He loves attention and going for walks where he can discover the world. He is good with other dogs and curious about them when he meets them on his daily walks in Central Park.

Barry’s easygoing and affectionate temperament make him an ideal companion for all types of households. He loves social interaction and is great with kids. He is being fostered in Manhattan with a family with 2 kids (8 and 10 years old) and one female dog. He has quickly adapted to his new environment.

He has a moderate energy level so regular walks, playtime, and mental stimulation are important for his well-being. He is crate-trained and he enjoys his naps there. He can be very funny, and when his foster parents come back home he is so excited to see them that he looks like he dances and his butt goes side to side. It’s hilarious!

Barry is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested, and has a health certificate. He comes to an adopter with a harness, a collar, and two leashes for safety.
