This helps Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC with pet care costs.
St. Roch, now Rocky, was adopted by a loving family and returned to us through no fault of his own. Rocky turned 3 in October 2024 and is: crate trained, house broken, leash trained, good with children, dogs large and small, calm during thunderstorms, and knows his basic commands. His fur is so SOFT, you won’t believe how soft fur can be until you pet him. Rocky is playful by with other dogs by nature so living with a playful brother or sister would be a plus but not required. Rocky is a phenomenal riding companion and remains chill even with windows down at bustling gas stations. Rocky does have one quirk, however, that will require a special fit home. He does not do well in large gathering or party environments. Rocky likes his peace and quiet at home, maybe that ‘s his secret to staying so cool headed when on the go? Possibly!? While Rocky will certainly oblige an occasional house party by hiding in a bedroom, he won’t be making his rounds to say hello to guests. We want to see Rocky find a furever home where his family values quiet living as much as he does. Once he warms up to you, you will find yourself with the sweetest, smartest, and most loving companion you could ask for.
This is his family's story:
These adorable puppies were born to a stray mom and lived their first three weeks snuggled together in an old out building. No one knew they were there but the locals knew Momma, Joanie had given birth. We don't know how she was able to feed 8 littles as she at the mercy of folks leaving her scraps from a local cafe. When Joanie was finally caught and her babies found, they were taken to a loving foster home. Once she knew she was safe, she became a totally different dog and seemed so grateful for lovies and all the food she could eat to continue caring for her precious babies who are called The Saints: Joan of Arc and her 8 littles: Stella Maris, St. Christina, St. Angelina, St. Jude, St. Blaise, St. Hugh, St. Roch, St. Francis (3 girls & 5 boys)!! They were born around October 15th, 2021. We believe Joan to be a Beagle/Lab mix who weighs 40lbs and dad to be a black & tan coonhound who weighs approximately 50lbs so the puppies should be medium sized doggos. Roch is the same beautiful red color as his mom, Joan. He, like his siblings is a sweetheart.
