My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jesse is being fostered in OFallon, MO

DING! DING! DING!! This handsome stud is Jesse.  Jesse is an 8-10 month old Australian Shepherd.  We think he is quite possibly mixed with Border Collie because he has a tail, but that is our guess based on his mannerisms.  Jesse is a gorgeous blue merle male that was found as a stray in a St Louis park.  The finders reached out when the exhausted all efforts to find his humans.

This boy is learning so much!  He is almost 100% potty trained and crate trained.  He will require an aussie savvy home, which provides strong leadership but provides all positive reinforcement.  He will need someone who will continue working on the training that was started in his foster home.  This hunk is great with other dogs and LOVES to play.  He does have a cat in his foster home and he really likes to chase the cat, so a home without cats would be best.  He seems to have a bit of a prey drive, but if a cat would put him in his place it might be different.

Jessie is a happy boy that is also very affectionate.  He already knows sit, down and loves to play with toys and chew on bones.  He could benefit from an obedience class or some training in his forever home and continued socialization with the world around him to grow up to be a well rounded pup. Since he is such a young boy, we do recommend a home that will provide 1 - 2 hours of exercise a day.  This boy also would be a good candidate for a dog sport. Does this stunning boy look like your next family member?

Jesse is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
