Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, I discovered two adorable kittens looking for a home!
Poe and his littermate Edgar were rescued from a South Philly backyard this summer. Their feral mom had raised them for 4 months, but it was time for mom to get TNR’ed and the boys to acclimate to the comforts of indoor life.
Because of their origins, they will inevitably be shy when transitioning to a new home, and will do best in a quiet, patient home without young children. In their foster home, they transformed from scared to playful, happy and affectionate in a few weeks.
With patience comes big rewards: these two guys are softer than clouds, give the sweetest little kisses, and have unique, fun quirks: Poe loves to highlight his amber eyes with white eyeliner, wear one sock pulled up and one down, and has a purr that could bring about world peace.
Ideally, these two boys would be adopted together; if not, they should go to a home with another playful cat who will help them adjust and also expend some of the teenage energy they have.
