Sweet Abbie is beyond ready to go home! We took her out of a shelter, after the hurricane, and vowed to find her a forever and ever home. She had been there over a year. This petite girl would love to find a calm, quiet home with one or two humans who will love her and dote on her! We think she deserves it!! Abbie is very sweet and loves human attention, on her terms. She's not a big fan of children. She can get over-stimulated when things around her are loud or chaotic, and she'll express her discontent by nipping at your fingers. It's just her way of letting you know that she's uncomfortable.
Abbie has thyroid disease that is controlled with daily medication. She's used to taking her meds and has no problem gobbling down her pills when you crush them up in her wet food. She LOVES to eat and will actually purr while doing so! Abbie will require blood work every 6 months to ensure that her medication is working correctly so consider that expense when considering becoming Abbie's family. Her thyroid meds themselves are not very expensive thankfully. We think Abbie is pretty special and we all love her, but it's time for her to go home! Won't you open your heart and home to this purr-fect kitty? If you think she might be a match for your home, please submit an adoption application and we will contact you to discuss her further and coordinate a meet and greet.
Like all our kitties, Abbie is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested (negative), dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.
All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.
Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
