Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Tan/black tabby, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 9/25/23, #18801
Cats: yes with intro Dogs: possibly Children: calm teens+
BACKGROUND: This sweet spud first came to our care as a small kitten; she was adopted and loved her older teenage best friend, but found the active toddlers in the home to be too much for her and would hide from them. When a medical issue arose, the family decided it would be best for Potato to find a more suitable home and she returned to us. Potato’s medical concerns were cleared up and she flourished in foster care. Now she is looking for her forever soulmate!
PERSONALITY: Potato is one of the sweetest cats her foster mom has ever met. She loves to touch noses with you! She will sit in your lap and is a very interactive and talkative girl, which means there are plenty of good conversations in store for you. Potato knows her name and will come running when you call to her. This playful kitty enjoys playing soccer with rolling balls as well as her catnip toys. Put a bird or squirrel video on the TV and she’ll jump up to excitedly touch the screen! (SQUIRREL!) Potato needs a little time to warm up in a new environment and then she’ll turn into a love bug. She likes it best when you approach her quietly and calmly and preferably let her come to you… which she will! She’s an adorable snuggler who loves her people.
COMPATIBILITY: Potato had her own room in foster care, but she communicated through the door with the resident cats and large dog and seemed to have no issues. (She even saw the dog briefly and wasn’t bothered.) We think she would enjoy being with another easygoing kitty and possibly a cat-friendly dog. Small or overly boisterous children are not a good fit for Potato; she likes her space and quiet time and finds them overwhelming. She had a lovely relationship with a cat-savvy teen, though, and calm older kids 12+ who know to respect her space would likely be fine.
Potato’s foster is an experienced one who has had many cats come through her home, and Potato is one of her favorites: sweet, social, cuddly, and those nose kisses--! If you offer her a little patience, you will have a love of a cat in return.
