Debbie is a sweet and cuddly 6-month-old kitten looking for her forever home!
Debbie is a very sweet, active, cuddly little lady. She is very gentle with the human baby in the home and they can often be found playing toys together and cuddling for naps (SO adorable). She absolutely loves to get into new things and being near the humans in the home. She tries to engage the resident cats in play, but would greatly benefit from having a kitty companion closer to her age and energy level.
Debbie is a kitten that comes with a lot of energy. She's pretty much always ready to play and then she'll take a little nap and then repeat. She loves playing 'cat and mouse' with the resident cats, sharing toys with and cuddling her human baby and foster parents. She is a huge fan of wand toys, cat trees, cat TV (watching what's going on in the windows throughout the home.
Debbie currently lives in a home with 2 adults, 1 human baby and 2 resident cats. She is thriving in her foster home and would probably do well in most any home. She would likely do very well with young, respectful kids or a baby to grow up with. She also is looking for a furry companion to cuddle and play with as well because she so much enjoys the companionship of the resident cats in her home.

Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
