Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Coconut is a 4-month-old, extremely affectionate and needy (in the most adorable way) kitten looking for her forever home!
This beautiful girl is a super-loving and adorable kitten to the max. Snuggling with her humans is one of her favorite activities and she doesn't care to be too far away from them.
She frequently follows her foster mom around, chirping and giving littles meows to express that she needs to be picked up and cuddled. Coconut is a girl who isn't afraid to communicate when she feels she isn't receiving enough affection.
This fluffy little cloud has recently found the Christmas tree in her foster home and loves to bat at the ornaments on the tree. She hasn't yet climbed to the top of the tree, but it is only a matter of time. When she is feeling playful, she enjoys darting in and out of boxes as well as surprise-pouncing on the other foster kittens in her foster home that pass by.
Of course, her favorite hobby is snuggling and napping on top of her human on the couch. If they are ever feeling under the weather, she will happily lay on top of them for as long as needed.
This sweetie pie starts her day off with eating the yummy wet food her foster mom gives her. After a tasty breakfast, she is ready to play in the cat tree and wrestle with the other kittens. During the afternoon, she is all about long naps and snuggles with her humans when they are home. In the early evening, she is ready to recharge for another play session, often entertaining herself while pouncing on anything in her path.
Coconut currently lives in a foster home with other kittens, resident cats and dogs, adults, and older children. She does great with other cats and kittens, even though she may hiss initially until she trusts them (which takes just a few minutes). Because of her young age, Coconut will need to be adopted with one of his siblings (check out any of the other ""Christmas"" themed kittens) or into a home with another friendly young cat to show her the ropes.
She is comfortable with the large dogs in the home (they just ignore her); always a friendly gal, she frequently sleeps next to the dogs on the couch. This cutie pie does well with older children and loves to be snuggled and pet by them.
Coconut's ideal home is a quiet to moderately busy place where her humans are around frequently and ready to give her lots of affection. She will need to go home with one of her kitten friends or to a home with an active young resident cat to show her the ropes.
This beautiful gal is having her spay appointment on 12/18. After that, she’s ready to add that perfect, sweet Coconut touch to your home!
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated.
Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption. Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.
Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer
How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
