Hi there! I’m Pepper, a charming brown tabby boy on a quest for my forever home. My sister, Basil, and I are a playful pair who have been inseparable since we were kittens, so it’s essential that we find a family willing to adopt us together. Our bond is truly special! Sadly, our previous owner fell ill and was unable to care for us anymore. We’re now ready to step into a new world where we can shine and receive the love we’ve been craving. I’m a social guy who loves being around people and maybe even some friendly feline pals! Whether it’s chasing Basil or pouncing around for fun, I’m always up for a good time. When playtime is over, you can find me snuggled up with Basil, enjoying all the warmth and affection we can get. We promise to fill your days with joy, laughter, and plenty of cuddly moments. Some animals shown are rehoming courtesy posts for the current owners, and other animals are available for adoption through Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs).

All animals in the care of FRAs have their annual vaccinations, sterilization, FeLV/FIV test for cats, and a microchip. You must sign an adoption contract when adopting a pet through FRAs.

More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. FRAs was founded in 2004 by 4 volunteers who wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter. Our organization has grown to over 300 volunteers, and with this growth, we now support two municipal shelters -- Rowlett, TX and Garland, TX – and operate our own cat rescue program.

Our mission is to provide resources, programs and education to promote adoption and care of homeless pets in our community. FRAs’ vision is a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving forever home. We are a 100% all volunteer run organization, and our ability to help homeless animals depends on donations from the community and grant funding.

Our organizational programs include operating the volunteer program for both shelters, providing funding for heartworm treatments and emergency medical care, accepting cats from the shelter and citizens into our foster-based cat rescue, supporting TNR/SNR efforts for community cats and most recently funding dog transport initiatives. Our volunteers spend thousands of hours socializing and marketing the animals for adoption, which increases the number of animals with a positive outcome. FRAs has helped countless pets avoid euthanasia, find their forever homes and live longer, healthier lives.
