Harvey was brought in by a community member on 12/8/2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Harvey! This sweet boy was quite shy and scared when he first came into our care. He has settled down over the time he's been here and now is having good social relationships with staff. You want to go slow with Harvey when you meet him, but give him some treats and that goes a long way! If you would like to meet this handsome big boy, please visit our Escondido campus! We'll also have you watch an informative video about managing fearful dogs if you would like to adopt him.

Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.
