My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jewel (A212174)! Jewel is just two years young and looking for a loving home at the shelter.

Jewel has had a rough start in life. She was found at a truck stop where a nice truck driver fed her and she followed him back to his truck basically begging him to rescue her! He did so and took her home to his ranch where she lived amongst his other cats, but that was not a happy life for Jewel as she had to compete with other kitties for food and attention and she did not do well there.

Luckily she made it to us and now she finally has a taste of the good life and she wants MORE! Jewel is so happy to have a cozy bed and food to eat and she no longer has to worry about how she will survive.

Jewel is a gentle kitty who will purr with a loving touch and is coming around nicely to being a wonderful pet kitty! But she needs YOU to make her life complete! Because she is a sensitive girl, she would appreciate a quiet home without young kids or dogs where she can relax and flourish. She has lived around other cats, but they were not kind to her and she had to be on the defensive to get food, she may not appreciate a cat friend unless they are very easygoing and will respect her space. Jewel needs an indoor only home as she has a birth defect in one eye and is not visual in that eye. It doesn't bother her any though.

Please give Jewel, this diamond-in-the-rough, a chance to blossom and shine in a loving home of her own!

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
