Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Stefan is a 5 year old mixed breed who was pulled as part of “Angel Retreat’s ACCT’s of love” program. Stefan was scheduled to be euthanized, due to a pre existing injury and lack of space. It was our founder’s birthday that same day, and as a present to herself she went and saved the dog in the shelter who needed the most help at that time, Stefan.
Stefan came into the previous shelter as a stray with an “injured foot”, either from a traumatic injury such or a possible aggressive malignant (cancerous) growth. He was very malnourished as well as shut down and fearful of people upon his arrival, but was nothing short of perfect when anyone would tend to the wounds on his paw. He needed an amputation surgery as well as a place to decompress and we were grateful to be able to step in and give him a happy ending.
Our wonderful veterinary team at Brandywine Valley Vet made time for us the very next day to get Stefan’s surgery done and get him started on the road to healing. They believe the injury is due to his paw being run over by a car, and they suspect no involvement of any cancer or any underlying illness!
Stefan is recovering amazingly in his foster home! He can frequently be found snuggled up on the couch with his canine foster siblings and is opening up more and more each day! Stefan needs a little more time to recover but will soon be ready to find a forever home of his own.
Stefan was given this opportunity because of support from generous donors and supporters. Please consider contributing to our “ACCTs of Love” fund to help us be able to continue to save more dogs like Stefan.
