My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Butter was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team

Why this pet is the one for you:
Butter is a gentle soul with a heart as soft as her name suggests. Independent and sweet, Butter is a delight to be around. Every morning, Butter meets us at the front of her kennel with the softest eyes and sweetest look. During the day, she likes it when we stop by to visit her. With a treat in hand, she is easy to leash. She does love her treats. She is not bothered by other dogs. She's not just a pet, she's a companion, a friend who will never let you down. Her past is a mystery, but her future is bright. Adopt Butter, not just to give her a home, but to add a loyal companion by your side through thick and thin. Wouldn't that be nice? Come to our shelter to meet mellow Butter.

At SDHS:
Butter has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
