Ashley is a beautiful and soft-hearted pup searching for a forever home filled with patience and love. This shy but curious girl is learning to trust, and with a little time and care, her sweet personality truly shines.
Ashley takes treats softly and loves quiet moments of affection. When sniffing around a new space with her wagging tail, Ashley’s curiosity shows her eagerness to explore and connect.
Ashley would thrive in a quiet, understanding home where she can continue to build her confidence and blossom into the loving gal she's eager to be!
Are you ready to help Ashley’s bravery grow and give her the love she deserves?
Ashley is eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. You can meet her at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10 am to 6 pm or email foster@acctphilly.org to learn more about fostering.
Behavior:
Notes from walk sheets 12/17: On 12/16 volunteer reported no issues with coming in/out of kennel, leash, shyness or jumpy. Stated she was lower energy, very sweet and cuddly. 12/17-12/18 Ashley was on an overnight sleepover.
Per staff 12/16: Took Ashley out with another staff member to get her a cute holiday picture! She was a little timid walking outside but warmed up the second she smelled treats. She immediately sat the second a treat was in her sight. She was very patient and took the treats so gently. We didn’t have her out for long but a volunteer brought her in the office later where she had time to open up even more and was enjoying some pets and seemed pretty confident meeting new people as they walked in. Such a good girl all around!
Per Volunteer 12/16/24:
Ashley is such a sweet girl!! I’m obsessed. She’s very easy to leash and easy to walk. She is super affectionate and takes pets all over. Seems pretty comfortable with new people, but definitely scared in the shelter environment. Skittish with loud noises and sudden movements (like when the door opened suddenly). She is super treat motivated and takes them gently. She knows sit and stay! Obsessed!! Such a love bug. Looks like she recently had puppies. No issues going back to kennel, very easy to handle!
Per Staff 12/14/24: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Ashley
KNOWN HISTORY:
Police pickup
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Ashley was laying on her bed when I approached and came up to the door with soft eyes and low wags when she saw me. She sat patiently at the front of the door and was patient for leashing.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally
HANDLING:
In the room, Ashley was searching the room, sniffing around curiously. When I called her over she came hesitantly with a low wagging tail. She was nervous to approach me but sat nicely and took treats gently. She wants to be comforting and tries to be brave and solicit in your arms but is still unsure and paces in front of you with soft eyes and a wagging tail. If you do approach her lower and pet her, she will allow all handling. She warmed up with some time and treats, allowing the handlers to pet her more and interact. She just likes a slower approach and a timid and calm environment.
PLAY:
Scared when i ran around
TOYS:
Sacred of the squeaky noise –walked away
COLOR LEVEL & ANY RECOMMENDATIONS:
Gold
