My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Maximus! I'm a energetic buddle of joy looking for my forever home! I am a big, strong boy who would benefit from some training but I am a well rounded dog! I am looking for someone who can get all my crazy boy energy out and let me be a cuddle bug when I'm tired. Schedule an appointment to meet me today!

More about this shelter

BENCHS was established in 1969 in Mankato, MN.
We serve city limits stray/unclaimed cats/dogs and personal owner surrenders.
We also work with Blue Earth county and other areas in MInnesota, including some Native American reservations when we are able to.
We have also developed relationships with several groups in Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and North Carolina to help the areas reduce their strays.
BENCHS often help other areas that have experienced natural disasters by taking in some of the animals located in those areas.
We have a heartworm positive dog program which enables us to help dogs who elsewhere would be put down.
