My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

This gorgeous guy is Cosmo! The luxurious fur you see in his photos really is super soft and silky to touch. He seems to like toys and definitely enjoys catnip, chin scritches, and food. He is a very affectionate cat however his real personality has been inhibited at the shelter because he doesn’t like having all the other cats around.  Some of that reaction could be due to the fact that he is front paw declawed.  We find that declawed cats are often on the offensive around other cats even if the other cats mean no harm. Cosmo's perfect home would be him as the only pet so that all of the attention could be lavished on HIM!  As with most long haired cats, he will need some assistance keeping his coat luxurious and free of mats and tangles so be sure you are up for regular brushing sessions. Cosmo is a large 6 year old that is neutered, declawed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants.

Go meet their pets

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
