Hi, I`m MacGruber and I`m so happy to meet you! I`m living the high life in a foster home and they have great things to say about me:

`His favorite things in the WHOLE world are people, a toy, and food. Give him all three and he`s the happiest boy in the world!
MacGruber walks great on a leash and loves to go on walks, AND he`s also the biggest snuggle bug who loves a warm lap to sit on.
He`s learning a bunch of new tricks and he`s the smartest boy. He already learned sit and paw, and is working on stay, lay down, and leave it.
He can live with other dogs and cats, but he needs doggos who can match or be okay with his puppy energy and play, and cats need to be super dog savvy since he`s still learning not to chase or play with them like they are dogs!`

1.
Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
