Archie is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved.
Archie is a very shy little boy who wants very much to live somewhere he’ll be able to finally relax.
He spent the first week in his foster home hiding behind the toilet, only coming out when the lights were off and nobody was around. He gradually started to come out of hiding more quickly and then one day while his foster uncle cat was visiting, Archie made a surprise appearance, watching from beside the toilet.
After three weeks in his foster home, Archie is out and about in front of his foster caregivers, but still has a ways to go. He loves chasing the feather wand toy, but keeps getting pushed out of the way by his more confident brother. He now follows his brother and foster human when it’s dinner time. He loves creamy tube treats and when his foster uncle cat is around he gets brave enough to eat directly from the tube while the human holds it, but again tends to get pushed away by his brother. He gets up the nerve to pass the people in his foster home, but dashes as quickly as he can past them.
Although he is shy, he hasn’t once hissed, growled or swatted at people. He’s got a kind soul that just needs more love and patience.
Archie has perfect litter box habits and loves to scratch on tall vertical scratching posts. Right now he is most active at night.
Archie will do best in a home with another confident kitten or cat who can show him what is safe. His adopters will need to be patient and give him the time he needs to finally relax and blossom into the lovely cat he is meant to be.

Additional adoption info
Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).
This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!
Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
