My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chuki, a young, goofy, and friendly superhero in the making. In a world where pets have powers, Chuki's story is unique. One day, while exploring, he stumbled upon a mysterious glowing stone. It gave him extraordinary abilities. His energy levels skyrocketed, his loyalty became unshakeable, and his intelligence surpassed all expectations. Unfortunately, his new powers can be a bit chaotic at the moment and can be overwhelming for kids under 10years old. Away from the shelter's hustle, Chuki is calm, showcasing his sweet, playful side. His curiosity makes every day an adventure. He's a smart, loyal companion who's ready to bring laughter and joy into your life. Adopt Chuki, and let the superhero journey begin. Chuki is currently available by appointment only. Please call the Behavior Helpline at (831)-264-5422 to learn more about him and schedule an appointment! He is also qualifies for our Foster to Adopt Program!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Four simple steps to adopt a pet
1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle.
2. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, you will need to introduce them at the SPCA to ensure a good match. When adopting, please bring your current dog with you. Our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt. We also prefer when possible that all family members living in the home meet any new pet before adopting.
3. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time.
4. Take your new lifelong family member home!

We understand that sometimes potential adopters are at work or school, coming from long distances, or need time to gather pets and family together to meet their potential new adoptee. Because of this, the SPCA offers a 24 hour hold on adoptable pets.
Holds cost $30 for a 24 hour period.
