My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Momma Marsha came to us with several other poodles, when the breeder shut down. All the others have long since found homes, but sweet Marsha was very pregnant. She had her babes on October 19, and was a fabulous mom right from the start!
Martha and her babies have been in a foster home, and have been exposed to dogs of all sizes and ages. Mom weighs 30 pounds and we expect the pups to be around the same. The other adopts from this breeder were all around 30-40 pounds.,
The pups will be spayed/neutered, have age appropriate vaccines, and had deworming and de flea treatment. Their adoption fee is $550. The pups have been well socialized, and should be good in almost any environment. Please note this breed DOES have a high cost of ownership and requires regular haircuts. They are a working breed, that will need plenty of mental and physical exercise to thrive.

All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested (6 months and above,) and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to choose from at the shelter as well. If the pet you fall in love with is not quite ready for adoption, we do offer a $50 hold deposit that will insure you have first "dibs on adoption. Once an animal is available for adoption, we are not able to hold them, as there are so many animals waiting to come into our program.

Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays. You are welcome to fill out our quick 10 question adoption survey to facilitate a quicker process. This will also start the meeting process for those animals in foster care:

Additional adoption info

We firmly believe that EVERYONE deserves the love of a pet, and strive to make our adoption process a positive one!

When you visit our Adoption Center in Raytown, our amazing Matchmakers will go to work helping match you with your perfect pet! If you would like to meet a pet currently located in a foster home, please email foster@marqkc.org and the foster parent will then be in contact to set up a time to meet at the shelter.

Midwest Animal ResQ provides medical treatment for all animals that come into our care. Some pets come to us injured or sick, and require an extraordinary amount of medical intervention. Variable adoption pricing allows us to continue to do more for those animals that need us the very most! Currently our average adoption fees do not begin to cover our average medical costs, not to mention the other costs associated with animal care, thus our fees are not negotiable. Thank you for understanding!

To adopt any animal, a government issued ID is required. For dogs we do require a well fitting collar or harness and a leash, you are welcome to bring those with you, or we have them for sale at the shelter for $5-$15. For cats we require a secure carrier, if you don’t have one, we sell cardboard carriers for $10 at the shelter. You will also receive a copy of all current health records.

We look forward to seeing you, and hopefully matching you with your perfect match!

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time!
