My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* 4 Little Paws is helping a Texas Animal Shelter by featuring a few wonderful dogs patiently waiting to find their forever homes!

Meet Joshua!

This spunky little fella has an endless love for people and an even bigger heart for adventure! Joshua is a lover through and through, dreaming of a family that will keep the hugs, cuddles, and kisses coming. In return, he’ll be your most loyal friend who will always be by your side offering unconditional love and devotion.

Joshua is ready to dive into new experiences with you. From neighborhood strolls to road trips, hikes, or lazy afternoons at dog-friendly spots, he’s the ultimate adventure buddy. Even visiting family and friends or trying out the latest dog-friendly café, he’s always game and eager to be part of every moment. And when it’s time to wind down, Joshua transforms into a perfect cuddle companion, snuggling up close for movie nights or quiet and relaxing evenings.

This social butterfly hasn’t met a stranger yet! Joshua’s friendly and open-hearted nature makes him a joy to be around, and his enthusiasm for meeting new people makes him an instant favorite, especially with kiddos. Occasionally, his excitement gets the best of him, and he’ll do an adorable little hop up onto your leg, gazing up with those sweet, irresistible puppy dog eyes. If you’re lucky, he will perform his signature dance of standing on his hind legs as he hops toward you! It’s impossible not to melt and give him all the love he craves. With his charm and zest for life, Joshua truly becomes the life of any gathering!

Well-mannered and respectful, he has a great set of manners under his belt. He knows “sit,” walks well on a leash, is potty trained, and has not shown destructive behavior. His easygoing personality also makes him a fantastic companion for other dogs! He’s polite and accommodating, enjoying play with friendly pups while giving space to those who prefer alone time. Joshua doesn’t need intense exercise or constant doggy company, so no doggy friend required to keep him happy.

Joshua is ready to share his playful spirit and boundless affection with a family who’ll welcome him into every adventure, big or small! If you’re looking for a loyal friend with a big heart and an even bigger love for life, Joshua might just be the perfect fit.

Joshua is a Little Terrier/Chihuahua mix weighing 22 pounds and around 3 years old! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccines including heartworm prevention!

* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
