Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello Obi!! In Las Vegas Nevada!
Obi was an owner surrender and is 3 years old. His former family did not have the time to give him the proper attention. When we picked him up, he was a little afraid at first and growled, but by the time we got home, he was loving and wanted to be petted. Obi loves affection! He has since learned to play with squeaky toys and he loves non-rawhide chews. It was a learning process, but now he has his squeaky toys, his bed, his crate and enjoys treats, When it comes time for brushing he will let you brush him all over.
We would describe Obi as a loving, affectionate dog that would benefit from becoming more social and exposed to the world. Will you be the family that shows Obi the world?? He is also a snuggler and loves to sit in your lap while watching TV, but this proves a little challenging, after all, he is 18.5 pounds!!! A throwback pommie.
He is crate trained and will go into his crate but sometimes will growl a little bit but settles right in.
At night he prefers to sometimes sleep downstairs on the couch or in the bedroom by my bed.
PLEASE no apartment living for Obi. He LOVES to bark at cars going by, the next-door neighbor’s dog, and loud noises. This can be worked on with dedicated training, right now we use the water squirter and the command of quiet. He is getting better, but it is still a process.
One really good aspect, Obi is potty trained. His schedule is below.
He LOVES to eat!! We have improved his diet with better food and either pumpkin or occasionally boiled mashed sweet potatoes mixed in with his everyday food. Right now he eats Blue Buffalo dry food and Nutri-Source canned food topped with green beans. We highly recommend that he stay on the same diet or even keep the same dry food and he also enjoys Fresh Pet which can be used in place of Nutri-Source canned. Since he loves to eat, the green beans provide food but without a lot of calories.
Daily Supplements:
Caniclean - a natural supplement for the teeth (this is super important, he will need a dental within 6-8 months)
Turkey Tail Holistic Immune Support (2 bags provided which will last for quite a while)
Probiotics (daily)
SUPER Affectionate and enjoys car rides! We would recommend a family with children over the age of 6 and we are not sure if he is familiar with cats. Does well with dogs, but no small dogs under the weigth of 10 pounds.
SCHEDULE:
6 - 7am - Potty time
7:15 am - Breakfast which is 1 cup of dry food (Blue Buffalo) and 1 big tablespoon of moistened wet food Blue Buffalo/Fresh Pet.
