My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daphne is an adorable kitten looking for a patient and gentle adopter. She was born outside with her siblings and spent the first couple months outside. Like her brother Ted, she’s still learning to trust humans. Once you get past the nasty looks though, and give this girl a pet, she quickly turns on her beautiful purr. She doesn’t care for being picked up, but she does love rolling around on a warm lap, receiving pets and scratches. Daphne is good with other cats but does seem a bit more particular than most kittens. She needs to be adopted to a home with another young cat or an existing, easy-going cat. She has not been tested with dogs. Because Daphne was born feral, her adopter should initially keep her in a small area with no hiding spots until she feels at ease and confident in her new space and with her new person/people.

Come meet Daphne and her brother Ted at the Aurora PetSmart ( 5520 S Parker Rd) from 11am-5pm.

Children 12 and over.

Born in  July 2024.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

  • $300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes.  These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
  • $200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes.  These 'guardian cats' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens.
  • $200 for kittens (6 months & under)
  • $125 for cats (older than 6 months)
  • $75 for senior cats (8 years or older)

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application  here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email cats@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time.

PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/

Our adoption process is:

1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
