My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Neo -- a striking two-year old male Shepherd Mix whose temperment is one of sweetness and understated charm. Arriving at Brooke County Animal Shelter as an underweight stray, Neo is one his way to growing into his full potential, both in weight and heart. Renowned for their kind nature, Shepherds make exceptional companions and Neo, while still a bit shy, shows all the promising signs of a gentle and loving friend and family member. He is a bit afraid of the cats in the shelter and, as always, a meet and greet is necessary prior to adoption.

With a little patience and plenty of tender-loving care, Neo is ready to blossom into a confident and devoted family member. If you're ready to provide some guidance and love, this beautiful soul is ready to receive it. He is eagerly waiting to meet you and become a cherished part of your life.

Please contact the Brooke County Animal Shelter in Beechbottom, WV, at 304-394-0800 or animalshelterbc@yahoo.com for more information.

Additional adoption info

Adoption Guidelines:
- Before scheduling a meet-and-greet with one of our adoptable cats or dogs, you must complete an application and interview with an adoption team member.
- You must be 21 years or older.
- All animals in your home must be up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed / neutered.
- If you rent, we will need a copy of your lease stating the landlord permits pets along with the landlord’s contact information.
- We do not place animals as gifts for others.
- Adopted animals must be kept as indoor companions.
- We reserve the right to perform a home visit.

We aim to provide high quality care for the well-being of rescued cats and dogs until they are placed in forever homes. All animals are regularly vet checked, fully vaccinated, spayed / neutered and microchipped. They are routinely treated for fleas and worms as well as any medical issues.

Except for a limited number of cats fostered at our headquarters, our adoptable animals are cared for in loving volunteer foster homes. We get to know the pets’ personalities and needs very well, striving to make the best possible match for both animals and adopters.
