Take the Pet Home
This helps Friends of the Mustang Animal Shelter DBA Friends of Metro Animal Shelters with pet care costs.
Ky was found taking cover in an abandoned car. She was infested with fleas, ticks, and mange. She was totally shut down and terrified. Once she was caught, she was immediately taken to the vet and then placed in a loving foster home in June 2021. We believe she was born near the end of 2020. She only weighed 12 lbs, and now weighs 35, but we believe she is full grown now. Ky is fantastic with most dogs, and is doing great at house training with a dog door. Unfortunately, we have no idea what kind of life she had before she came to us, and she is very timid around people. At this time, she can only be picked up if you put a blanket around her. She will allow you to pet her, but rarely, even now, several months later. She is not aggressive, just very scared, and will require a home that is willing to work with her and understand it will take a lot of time for her to become the dog she is meant to be! Due to her special circumstances, she will require a home with a securely fenced yard, no apartments, no out of state adoptions, and no children under 10 please. Her adoption fee will be negotiable to the right home.
All available dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given a broad spectrum dewormer .
The adoption fee for dogs is $150 for Adult dogs > 15lbs, $100 for Seniors 8yr+, and $200 for Small breed dogs and Puppies < 6 months
If you decide to apply for this or another animal, you can complete the application online here https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/570/generic We require that all dogs in the home be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention.
