Luigi was adopted as a kitten but his adopter brought another cat into the home after him and with no proper slow introductions. Luigi decided he needed to express his position in the pecking order by picking on the smaller more passive cat. No blood drawn but he definitely stalked and intimidated her. We think there was some jealousy going on too. He did fine with the 2 othre older cats and 2 dogs that lived in the home prior to arrival. This situation has resulted in Luigi being returned to us so he can find a better family fit, perhaps a family that has cat friendly dogs and no other cats or at least only a confident cat that is his size or larger. Slow introductions will be important as with any new pet introduction.
Meet Luigi at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd from 12-4pm, Saturday during our adoption event. You can also apply online to adopt to schedule a meet and greet another time.
All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccines, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, given a few rounds of dewormer and started on monthly flea preventative.
All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.
Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
