Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our “5-0 Litter” of four kittens are named after Hawaii 5-0 characters because on November 8, 2024, they were rescued by one of our local deputy sheriffs. The deputy looked around for the mom, but when he saw the kittens were about to be lunch for a circling hawk, he snatched them up and took them to the Lancaster Animal Shelter who immediately called our rescue.
We named the boy Steve and the girls Chin, Kono, and Dano. They all had umbilical cords still attached and meconium for their first poop, so it’s likely they were born that morning or late the day before. For those of you who mark important dates for your fur family members, we are calling their birthday November 7, 2024.
The kittens spent their first two weeks of life in one of our incubators, which meant feeding them every two hours around the clock. Fortunately, all four were enthusiastic bottle feeders, and they quickly gained weight. This litter has been healthy from the start, and as they matured they transitioned easily from bottle feeding to wet and dry kitten food.
The kittens will be old enough to leave for their forever homes the first of the year. Steve was adopted into a family with a young cat and cat-friendly dog. Dano and Chin have been adopted together and will also have a cat and dog sibling. So, beautiful little Kono is now available for adoption and will be old enough to leave the first week of January. Since she will be adopted by herself, our preference is that she be adopted as the companion for an older cat or a cat-friendly dog.
Kono is FIV/FeLV negative, vaccinated, and litter trained. Our nominal adoption fee covers her medical exams, deworming, vaccines, blood tests, and spay/neuter.
