My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Hazel (or Hazel Bagel, as we like to call her)!

Hazel is a charming and oh-so-special beagle who’s ready to wiggle her way into your heart. Resilient and sweet, she’s overcoming a tough start to life after being rescued from a dire situation with 30 other dogs. Now, Hazel is learning the joys of a cozy home filled with soft blankets, a comfy couch, and all the toys a girl could dream of.

True to her beagle roots, Hazel loves nothing more than darting around the yard, putting her incredible nose to work sniffing out all the scents, and—of course—giving her vocal cords a workout when something piques her interest. Her adorable beagle bay is a symphony for the soul (but maybe not for apartment living).

Here’s what Hazel needs to thrive:

  • A home with no shared walls, because her beautiful beagle voice deserves to shine without upsetting neighbors.
  • A calm environment with space to decompress and build trust at her own pace.
  • A family who can help her understand that strangers aren’t scary and that love and patience are abundant.
  • She lives with other dogs in harmony but due to natural hunting instinct cats are probably a no go.

Hazel may be shy around new people, but with time, love, and kindness, she’ll blossom into your most loyal and snuggly companion. Are you ready to give Hazel Bagel the forever family she deserves? She promises to bring you joy, love, and a lifetime of beagle shenanigans!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process includes adoption application which can be completed at our website wagsmn.org. Current fees can also be accessed on our website. After reviewing your application, a meeting is scheduled between you and the pet in the foster’s home or a neutral dog friendly place. If there are any resident dogs in your home, it is required that the dogs meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit is scheduled and, if everything goes well with the visit, the adoption is finalized. A home visit by one of our representatives is required prior to finalizing any adoption, and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant for any reason Adoption fee includes: vet exam(s), spay/neuter, de-worming, heartworm test (if 6 months of age or older), vaccinations, microchip, and FIV/FeLv testing (for cats only). Email is the best way to get a fast response (wagswhiskersmn@gmail.com).

Go meet their pets

All animals are available to meet by appointment arranged with the foster.
Please come see us at Petsmart on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Eagan (Petsmart 1297 Promenade Pl, Eagan, MN 55121); 4th Saturday of each month in Richfield (Petsmart 1100 W 78th St, Richfield, MN 55423); and the 3rd Sunday of each month in Maple Grove (Petsmart 11200 Fountains Way Maple Grove, MN 55369).
