My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chunhyang, a charming 4-year-old spayed Bichon Frise with a fluffy white coat and a petite 5kg frame. This sweet girl came from a breeding facility, but has blossomed into a social and affectionate pup ready to share her love with the world.

Chunhyang adores people, whether they’re old friends or total strangers. She’s the type to snuggle up, invite belly rubs, and even allows herself to be picked up with ease. She has a gentle nature and gets along wonderfully with children under 13. When it comes to other dogs, Chunhyang is equally friendly, greeting new and familiar dogs alike with enthusiasm. While she’s a bit wary of dogs larger than herself, she feels most at ease with pups her size or smaller, especially those with calm and kind personalities. Energetic or overly excitable dogs can make her a little uncomfortable, but she’s a pro at avoiding conflict, even when provoked.

Chunhyang’s approach to cats and birds is amusing—she’s the kind of dog who gets swatted by cats and just rolls with it. Her energy level is moderate; she enjoys outdoor adventures but is happy to relax quietly afterward. While she’s still getting the hang of walking on a leash, she’s learning quickly and does better in familiar spaces. Sudden movements or loud noises can startle her, but with gentle encouragement, she’s back to trotting along in no time.

She’s polite around food, never guarding it from people or other dogs, and rarely barks. While she’s not a fan of kennels and might whine a bit when confined, she’s fully trained to use both indoor pads and outdoor potty spots. Chunhyang is a gentle, loving companion who’s ready to find a forever home where she can truly shine.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
