Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hazelnut is rather timid and is struggling to grasp her current situation. She has traveled a long distance and is now working on managing her fear of barking dogs while being on a leash. With her keen hound nose, she enjoys exploring scents left by those who have come before her. Treats are one of her favorite rewards, and when she starts to feel more at ease, she accepts them gently. Through positive reinforcement and basic obedience training, Hazelnut will gradually gain confidence. As she does, she has the potential to become a very devoted companion. She requires an experienced adopter who understands shy dogs. If you possess the patience to guide Hazelnut on her journey, she is eager to walk alongside you.
Breed is based on physical features. All shelter animals are considered to be a mixture of breeds.

More about this shelter
Springdale Animal Services' mission is to provide shelter and care to the thousands of stray, abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in need every year. We reunite lost pets with their owners, and place many that are homeless in caring, permanent homes. We strive to ensure the welfare and public safety of our community and its animals through education of our citizens and enforcement of our ordinances. We promote spaying/neutering all domestic animals at the earliest appropriate age, as a means of reducing their overpopulation.
