Hi, I’m Kahlua! My journey started when I was rescued from the streets in September 2024, and I’ve been living in a loving foster home ever since. I’ve been settling in really well and learning so much about the world—and myself!
Here’s what I’d love for you to know about me:
Breed: Jindo Mix
Age: 5 Months
Gender: Female
Weight: 29 lb (still growing)
Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely barks, no escape tendency
My Personality:
I’m not shy with strangers at all! In fact, everyone I meet tells me how sweet I am. I adore cuddles, but not for too long—there’s just so much out there that grabs my curiosity! I’m also a champion hand-licker and love spreading my affection that way.
One time, I met a tiny human (an infant!), and I was so gentle and calm around them. My energy level is moderate for a puppy, meaning I’m playful but know how to chill when it’s time to relax.
My Outdoor Adventures:
Walks? Oh, I LOVE them! Urban noises and sights don’t scare me at all, though I can get easily distracted because I’m curious about everything—especially things to sniff and taste. Tree branches, fallen leaves, and even snow? All my favorite things! I’m not a strong puller, and I’m really good at coming when called.
Playtime:
Toys are my jam! I also adore dog parks, where I can meet and play with new furry friends. I love running, chasing, wrestling, and playing with balls. I’m super friendly with other dogs and always up for some fun.
At Home:
I’m great with baths and being dried off, though I’m still working on getting comfortable with people touching my mouth or teeth—I might nip if it happens, but I’m trying to get better at this. I’m crate-trained, and I’ve been practicing house training (right now, I’m about 50% pee pads and 50% outdoor potty-trained).
Other Good Stuff About Me:
- I don’t bark much.
- No resource guarding or separation anxiety here!
- I’ve even met a cat briefly—I was curious but polite, so I might be okay with a cat sibling as long as we’re introduced properly.
- I don’t get carsick, which means I’m ready for road trips!
What I’m Looking For:
I’d love a home that will embrace my playful, curious spirit and help me continue learning about the world. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, exploring the outdoors, or hanging out with other dogs, I’m ready to fill your life with love and laughter.

My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicablee taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.

Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
