Double Adoption with Jax, #H212661. Meet Baxter & Jax, the new dynamic duo! Baxter, a senior Pug mix, and Jax, an adult Dachshund mix, are the ultimate pair of best friends. These two have spent most of their lives together, forming a bond as close as siblings. After their owner fell ill and could no longer care for them, Baxter and Jax found themselves in search of a new home where they can stay together. Both are incredibly friendly and love to explore and play, whether it’s romping around the dog park or making new friends at the shelter. However, with so many recent changes, they can be a little fearful, so they need a patient adopter who understands how to help them feel safe and loved. If you have room in your heart and home for two loveable companions, Baxter and Jax would love to meet you and start their next chapter together.

When you come down to NSALA an associate will help you figure out what kind of animal will do best in your situation. At that point they will take out the animals you are interested in so that you may get to know them. You will have plenty of time to play and interact with your new friend in our family friendly areas designated for that purpose. When you decide you want to adopt, an associate will help you fill out an application.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppies (up to 6 months) $350
Adult Dogs (over 6 months) $100
Puppy Mill Rescues $250
Small Breed & Pure Breeds (over 6 months) $250
Kittens (up to 6 months) $100
Double Kittens $150
Adult Cats (over 6 months) $50
Double Adult Cats $75

Where applicable, a $50 Spay/Neuter deposit is required for kittens, $75 for puppies.

Our Adoption Center, is open every Thursday-Sunday 12pm-8pm. On average, our shelter is home to 350 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Behind the scenes, the Adoption Center contains a nursery area, medical examination room and a grooming area where new admissions are health checked, vaccinated, bathed and groomed.

Visitors are reminded that adoption is a lifelong commitment. After selecting a pet, each potential adopter is thoroughly screened, ensuring each adopter recognizes the life-changing commitment a new pet can be. To date, over 1,000,000 pet owners have met our high standards and adopted a pet from North Shore Animal League America.
