Gretchen
7.5 month chiweenie puppy
13 pounds
Fostered in Raleigh
Short list: Sweet, VERY active, Needs a playful dog, housetrained, cratetrained, likes to go for walks, pretty good on the leash for a puppy
Looking for some fun in your life? Got a playful dog that needs a friend? Like to walk or hike? Then Gretchen is your girl.
Gretchen LOVES to play. She will spend hours playing with other dogs, both big and small. We are looking for a family with a playful dog so she has a BFF and partner in crime. When she tires out the other dogs, then her human is her next favorite playmate. She will play fetch for as long as you will continue throwing the ball or toy. We always wear out before Gretchen. Toys, balls, squeekies, you name it and Gretchen will play with it.
But when playtime is over, Gretchen is a great snuggle bunny. She wants to be right near you and keep you company. She will worm her way right into your lap and cuddle with you. She will keep you laughing and on your toes with her fun and silly antics. You will never be lonely with this girl in your life.
This gal likes to go for walks so an active family would be great. She needs some work to be a pro at leash walking, but she’s pretty good for her age. And she loves to meet new friends – wagging her tail all the time. She’s still learning not to jump up on people so her new family will need to work on manners a bit. Gretchen is housetrained – so you get the puppy fun without the downside of puppyhood. She’s also cratetrained and does great with her foster mom’s working schedule.
This adorable chiweenie puppy was surrendered to a rural shelter by her owners. They loved her to pieces, but her puppy energy was too much and she kept getting under their feet. Because Gretchen is the energize bunny and wants to be right near you, she wouldn’t be a fit for a family with any member that has mobility issues.
Gretchen is UTD on shots, spayed, microchipped, and started on preventions. Her new family will need to drive to Raleigh to adopt her – to tranpsorts. We prefer to adopt to families within 3 to 4 hours from central NC. To get the process started, fill out an application at www.doxiebyproxy.org
