My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tate, also affectionately known as “Taytay,” “TaterTot” and “friend,” has a gentle, quiet disposition, a deep love for children, and a perfectly balanced energy level. He’s all you could ever ask for in a family dog, and lucky for you- he’s looking for his forever family!

We believe that Tate is an American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He currently weighs in at a soft, sweet 57 pounds, and we estimate his age to be around 2 years old. Tate is a rescue, his exact age and breed are unknown to us, and cannot be guaranteed.

Fall in love with Tate here: https://youtu.be/BUz2bfRCW2o?feature=shared

Tate is seriously amazing with children. He’s so tuned in to any child in his vicinity, sweetly stopping his play to pay attention when a toddler cries. He gentles himself for children, reeling his usual playtime energy back a bit and becoming more cautious. He’s such a family dog, he could easily be the “first rescue dog” your kids will talk about for the rest of their days. Watch him play with a four year old in his video.

With other dogs, Tate is just as sweet. Tate has been fostered in multi-dog homes before, and does really well with dogs of all shapes and sizes! Tate is small dog friendly, and even had a teeny tiny dachshund bestie for a spell! He shares treats exceptionally well, and never shows jealousy around other dogs. He could fit in in any dog lover’s home.

Tate adores everyone he meets, but he’s not too needy for attention. In your home, Tate is happy to be a background character. On walks, however, he does enjoy the celebrity-status that his charming good looks give him. He greets strangers with ease and gratitude, making fast friends with anyone and everyone.

He loves the car. Tate does well on drives, sitting up in the backseat. He loves pup cups, and he’ll adore you for taking him on adventures. He’s still working on his leash skills, but with a little polishing, he’ll be a perfect walking companion in no time! Tate is super smart, highly trainable and food motivated. He takes treats so gently too, further training with him will be enjoyable and rewarding for both of you.

Tate is a total toy lover, but he’s gentle with his stuffies and takes care to be gentle with his playmates. No gnashing teeth or hard grabs from this guy, he’s perfectly polite at playtime.

Tate is ready to be your best friend. He could live in a home with other dogs, or thrive as a solo-dog. He would love to be a family dog, and promises not to rile up your kids too much! Tate special requests that you stock up on cheese in anticipation of his arrival, it’s his favorite treat! We are willing to test Tate with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates,

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
