How has no one adopted sweet Avery yet! This gorgeous girl and is calm, gentle, affectionate, and oh so sweet. Her foster mom has taught her to walk in a perfect heel, and she has been trained on a remote collar for off leash adventures (though often isnt needed as she tends to stay close to her people anyways). She is indifferent of cats and great with kids. She enjoys being brushed and tolerates nail trimming. Genetic testing shows she is a pure-bred Great Pyrenees, and true to the breed she does show some territorial tendencies towards other dogs in her home. She has been taught to peacefully coexist with another dog in her foster home, and would require continuation of this training if she were to be adopted to a multi-dog home. But ultimately, she would be happiest as the only dog in her family. Avery seems to be versatile and would make a great family pet, but could also be a semi-working dog as she is watchful and enjoys patrolling the yard, true to her breed. Please visit our website www.grandrivershumane.org to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our upcoming adoption event locations.
