My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bear! Bear is a young, energetic pup bursting with playfulness and enthusiasm! Whether it`s chasing a ball, or enjoying an adventure, Bear is always ready for fun. His lively spirit and happy personality make him the perfect companion for an active family or someone who loves the outdoors. If you’re looking for a playful, loyal friend to brighten your days, Bear can’t wait to meet you!

~ Bear is looking for an active home that will be able to take him on lots of adventures
~ Bear is looking for a single person, couple or family consisting of all adults
~ He will need to be signed up for training prior to going into his fur-ever home to ensure he becomes the best version of himself

Regularly Exhibited Behaviours:
- Mouthy
- High Energy
- Jumpy
- Under-Socialized
- No Previous Training
- Escape Artist

Explanation of behaviours:
- Bear is a young high-energy dog that will need plenty of daily exercise, enrichment and training to set him up for success.
- Bear is under-socialized; his new family will need to slowly and positively work on socializing him to the world around him.
- He needs a lot of work on his overall manners and self-control including difficult behaviours such as jumping and mouthing.
- While in our care Bear has proven to be an escape artist. He will need his new family to keep a watchful eye on him and work with a trainer to slowly and positively improve this behaviour.

This dog would benefit from:
- An active home
- A home of all adults
- Lots of training and socialization
- Lots of time and attention

Training needs/behaviours that need to be worked with for this dog:
- Basic Obedience
- Basic Manners
- Mouthing
- Jumping up
- Socialization

**For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour fact
sheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions

**Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.

Additional adoption info

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
