My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bonjour, mon ami! I’m Louis—yes, like Louis XIV, but I prefer the title King of Cuddles over the Sun King. My reign is one of comfort and charm, and trust me, I rule with a velvet paw. Step into my royal court (your living room, naturally), and I promise you’ll feel like royalty yourself with a cat like me around.

My hobbies include lounging like a king on any available throne-like surface (read: your couch), patrolling my kingdom for pesky invaders (aka dust bunnies), and entertaining my loyal subjects (that’s you!) with playful antics. If you toss a toy my way, I’ll pounce with the precision of a monarch hunting for sport. And when playtime is over, I’ll purr-sistently demand cuddles fit for a king.

I’m not all pomp and circumstance, though—I’m also a cat of the people. I enjoy a simple chin scratch as much as I enjoy ruling the roost. If you’ve got treats to offer, I’ll decree you my favorite human instantly. No royal court is complete without a little indulgence, after all.

Now, let’s talk about je ne sais quoi, because I have it in spades. My soft fur? Luxurious. My soulful eyes? Mesmerizing. My playful spirit? Regal yet approachable. But don’t let the crown fool you—I’m down-to-earth and ready to shower you with affection in exchange for a loving forever home.

So, what do you say? Ready to bow to King Louis and make me the ruler of your heart? Trust me, life with me will be a royal treat. Let’s write our own tails of glory together!

More about this shelter

The Animal Defense League was established in 1934 by a group of individuals, “for the prevention of cruelty to animals; to promote kind and humane treatment of animals; and to aid and assist the enforcement of laws enacted for the prevention of animal cruelty.”

In 1961, ADL moved to its present location in the easily accessible northeast part of San Antonio. Its campus encompasses more than 12 acres and includes a two-acre pet park. On the property is an Adoption Center with a small retail store, and a separate 5,000 square-foot Clinic which houses our veterinary hospital that provides onsite spay/neuter surgery, surgery for injured and ill animals, and ongoing medical care for all ADL resident animals.
