Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
He is a 2.5 year old Rottweiler who weighs about 70 pounds. He arrived in our care very thin, and is still gaining weight, so he will likely be 80-90 pounds when he is at a healthy weight. Kris Kringle is a gentle giant who is a big snuggle bug once you get to know him. He warms up quickly to new people and will do anything for a few treats. Once he`s comfortable he enjoys playing with toys every so often, but mostly he enjoys being outside and exploring all the new scents for the day. Kris Kringle shows potential to live in a home with another dog, but he needs a slow introduction because he is very excited at first meet. If there are kids in his forever home they need to be ages 13 and older.
If Kris Kringle is too cute to pass up, stop in today to meet him and come find your new best friend!

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
