We rescued Mister from the pound a few years ago and at first he was a shy sweet great dog. Over the first few months he became more territorial in the house when people would come over and would bark and sometimes nip at people from behind. We introduced our daughter to the world about a year after we got him and he became even more territorial with her around. We’ve noticed that he is not very friendly with food and can snap when other animals or children are around his food. We had a smaller puppy for a while that we had to rehome because mister was getting aggressive while eating. My wife works from home with my daughter and sometimes she can get into stuff and be curious. We’ve noticed he will growl at her near any kind of food (his or not) and we want to avoid a serious accident before it happens. He is a very loyal, loving and sweet dog, we just do not want to take the risk anymore.
