My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh, hi. My name is Cammi and I am sure glad to be in the safety of the shelter. You know I started out here several years ago when I was just a puppy. I was adopted and went home with a nice family and then somewhere along the line I was either given away or stolen. So things are a little “blurry” as to where I have been the past few years. Somehow I ended up hanging around a house not too far from the interstate and the kind homeowner called Animal Control to pick me up. I was so excited when I saw the shelter! Safe at last! Well I have rested and I am now ready to try to find a new home! I am about four years old. I have all of my vaccinations, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. One small problem did show up on my health check up. I am heartworm positive. I’m not worried, because the shelter already has my treatment scheduled. I really hope this time I can find a family that will treat me like a “real” family member and not just a dog left in the yard.

Additional adoption info

The placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes and thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people is the primary goal of the Montgomery Humane Society Adoption Program. We focus on education so that every pet owner benefits from their contact with the shelter, whether or not they adopt an animal from us. Matching the needs of the animal and the potential owner, as well as educating potential owners about responsible pet ownership, helps to ensure successful pet placements of shelter animals.
