My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penelope is very shy and timid when introduced to new people and situations. She is easily scared, which likely results in a poopsie. Once she becomes comfortable and realizes she's in a safe, loving space... shazam! You've got a new best friend! She wants ALL your attention and affection - hugs, kisses and cuddles galore. She is playful and gets along with other dogs. We've been told cats and kids are no problem. And when it's time for bed, hope you don't mind sharing your pillow.

Penelope is a Houdini. She jumps and climbs any pen or baby gate. If she's crated, be sure to add carabiner clips to latch the door. She is working on her crate training. Due to past experience, Penelope is learning the crate doesn't have to be a scary place. Otherwise, she is well behaved in the house and has learned to use the doggy door.

Penelope is imperfectly perfect and deserves the best life we all wish for her.

Once an interview is complete and it sounds like a good match for the adopter, a meet and greet is scheduled.

Home Check

A Home Check is required prior to a Trial or Adoption

Sign Adoption Contract

Adoption fee is due at signing. Fee's are age based and we offer senior and military discounts

Additional adoption info

Home checks are done before dogs are adopted and a contract is signed stating that dogs will be returned to CMDR if anything changes in the homes situation. We will do out of area adoptions in certain circumstances.. Please fill out our interest form at the link provided.

This rescue is named after two very special dogs that I was blessed to have in my life. That the universe found me to be worthy of such a gift is forever humbling. This rescue is their legacy. It is based on Connor and Millie's sheer tenacity and determination to survive; their desire to love, be loved, and the ability to forgive. Please join us in this mission to seek out and provide hope to the Connors and the Millies struggling out there and gift them a destiny.
