My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ben!

This sweet boy came to us a few months ago when he and his sister were found as strays and ended up at the county shelter. They were instantly friendly and wonderful dogs, so we said yes without hesitation.

Ben is absolutely amazing. He's super friendly with anyone and everyone - you're typical goldendoodle. He's playful, but can also be calm and relax. He's great with all dogs, lives with a cat and kids. He is great in his crate, housetrained and rides great in the car. He came to one of our events at a dog friendly bar and just lounged in a booth like he owned the place. He's absolutely AWESOME!

Ben is around 50lbs and estimated at a year old. We noticed him limping when we first got him and had to have a hip/leg surgery done on him. He's 2 months out from surgery and still healing and trying to build muscle. Recovery can take up to 6 months to fully heal, but we don't want to keep him in a foster home forever, so we would love to send him to his forever home while he heals. He can still play and go for leash walks, just nothing too crazy for a few months.

If you're looking for an excellent family dog or best friend, this is your boy. Ben is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $400 and he is in Clearwater.

More about this rescue

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.

Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
