My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wasim was found outside in Saudi Arabia, always trying to go inside to escape the cruel weather, but was always kicked out. He has the cutest little meow and the most thoughtful face. He is ready to retire from his outdoor life for good.

He is super gentle and friendly and never harms anyone or anything. He loves attention and cuddles. He is also super super playful. It’s funny how he jumps around like a kitten although he is such a big chunky boy.

Overall, he is a total charmer and the cuddliest cat in the world. He is friendly and outgoing and follows his person around.  He is bright, curious, and silly. He makes biscuits day and night, and never turns down a snuggle.

This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.

Wasim was rescued with dental issues and had surgery. This surgery was covered by a generous donation!

This cat is FIV+ and will live a normal healthy and long life when provided with quality care such as a balanced diet and yearly wellness exams (like any cat). As FIV+ is not transmittable between neutered/spayed cats under normal circumstances, we are happy for FIV+ cats to mingle with FIV- cats in their adoptive homes.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
