My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!! My name is Gustav! I'm what may be called a typical shepherd here in the shelter. I do not thrive in this environment but out on walks I can be a completely different dog! On a few walks I've been very eager to meet other dogs and pretty curious of the geese in the park but not aggressively so. Cats are another story, they are a little too much like squirrels to me. While I'm not as into treats as other dogs I love rope toys and I really like playing in the water! I shouldn't go home with very small children since I can be a little possessive over my toys and they can be a little grabby! It would be great if my adopter had dog experience and even better if they had shepherd experience. Out of the shelter If you sound like you have a spot for me then please come and meet me!

If the pet is already spayed/neutered, and we're not waiting on a meet & greet or medical results to come back, the pet can go home TODAY!

Additional adoption info

VHS Adoption hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00-6:00 pm Central Standard Time.

Our adoption fees are as follows:

Cats & kittens: $100
Dogs older than 6 months: $200
Puppies under 6 months: $250
Rabbits: $50

Dog and cat adoption fees include the animal's spay or neuter, nationally-registered microchip, and age-appropriate vaccinations.
