Cara comes to us all the way from Puerto Rico, where she was roaming the streets as one of approximately 500,000 stray dogs on the island. These dogs are known as "Satos" and are typically medium sized and shades of brown! Cara flew to the US with a volunteer in the cabin, and has been adjusting to her new (and much colder) normal in the comforts of a loving foster home. She lives with a family with a teenager and two big dogs.
Here is what Cara's foster mom has to say about her:
"Cara (short for "Caramel") is a petite little girl that hails from Puerto Rico. "Shadow" may have been a better choice for a name as she is never far from our other 2 dogs, either engaging them in play or snuggling next to (or on top of!) them. There is a lot of joy packed in this little pup and in typical puppy form she has periods of high energy interspersed with power naps that recharge her for the next set of "zoomies".
While initially shy, it didn't take long for her to feel comfortable enough to share snuggles and kisses.
She has made big strides in potty training, especially if she's taken out on routine basis, but it's still a work in process. Lucky is the family that adopts this sweet pup!"
Cara’s adoption fee is $400. This animal is spayed, and up to date on core vaccines. They will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age.
