Sweet Potato is an incredibly affectionate, friendly, and cuddly dog. He loves to carry around a toy, or chew on one, and will lay in bed with you to cuddle and watch a movie, shoving his body as close as possible with little snores. He liked to chase balls, learns quickly with tricks—highly food motivated. He needs to have someone who is patient to help teach him routine, and settle on training him regularly, as Sweet Potato seems to not have had that structure growing up. He’s getting used to crate training, and does very well with positive reinforcement and rewarding for good behaviors. He wants to be near you, and will go along with pretty much anything, friendly with kids and dogs alike. No shown food aggression or toy aggression, though he has been getting better about trying to take the toys from other dogs who drop them on the ground. A treat in your hand will get him to let go of anything! He needs attention in the mornings and evenings to burn off energy before sleep, as he is still having a bit of separation anxiety in the crate while training, but patience will do wonders. He’s overall an excellent dog, but may not be the best with cats or other small non-dog pets in the house, as he has no experience with them.
