My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Spruce! I'm a puppy with a heart full of joy and a spirit brimming with playfulness. I love to play fetch and chase my tail. My favorite thing is when humans give me belly rubs and play with me. I'm really good at making friends, both with humans and other dogs. I'm sweet and friendly, and I promise to always greet you with a wagging tail and lots of puppy kisses. I'm just a little pup, but I have a lot of love to give. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will bring endless happiness and fun into your life, then I'm the dog for you! Adopt me, and let's start our wonderful journey together!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
