My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bean is a  cute and spunky brown tabby domestic shorthair that came to Murci's Mission as an owner surrender when her owner was experiencing a personal crisis. She has an estimated birthdate of 03/01/2018.

She is an independent kitty but loves attention when she wants it. She is also very playful & athletic. Although she doesn't want too much petting beyond her head and cheeks, she often likes being picked up and walked around. After earning her trust, she will look lovingly at you and give little kisses.

She loves the red laser pointer and will come running immediately when it's out.  She is a little moody with other pets but tolerates them. She would prefer a home with kids old enough to respect her space as needed although she slowly learns to trust that her boundaries will be respected.  She sometimes seeks snuggles or a cozy nap.

Bean comes spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $50 and includes a sample of the food she's been eating and her medical records.  To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
