Meet Kiki, a lovely tabby with a calm and quiet demeanor. When she was 5 years old, her owner surrendered her to the shelter and Kiki has been taking things in ever since. (She ended up in the shelter as her owner moved and the landlord doesn’t allow pets.) She likes to look out the window and seems to be fine with that instead of playing with toys. She seems to enjoy having staff around, but is not demanding of attention. Kiki comes across as a little reserved, but cats can be far different when they are not in a cage. She’s fine with a little head scratch and soft, loving voices. If you’re looking for a low-key companion, please come and meet Kiki. She has been spayed and vaccinations are current. You can use the ‘dog application’ on our website (ignore obvious dog questions), or arrange a time to come to the shelter to meet her. Her adoption fee is $75.

Our adoption fees do vary depending on the animal and all pets go to new owners already spayed and neutered, vaccinated and wormed. All adopters are given a two week adoption trial with an exchange guarantee if the animal does not work out. We require a completed adoption application, which is on line on our website, and a signed care contract. All pets go out with a copy of their signed agreement and a copy of their medical record. Fees for adult cats are $60-75 and kittens are $75. Fees for dogs are $125 to $200 for adult mixed breed up to $300 for purebred, small dog puppies.

Go meet their pets

TRACS offers appointments daily 1-5 PM during the week excluding Mondays to see and meet adoptable pets. Tracs also adopts cats and kittens from Petsmart in Missoula, Montana. We have adoption days for dogs and cats at Petsmart additionally about 6 times a year. We also attend annual adoption events in the Missoula and Kalispell areas of Montana.

TRACS has been in operation for 7 years and we have taken in and adopted out 3000 animals (as of 11/1/2013). We are mostly volunteers and pride ourselves on the fact that we have a new facility (small and humble but very comfortable) and have had for 2 years. We are a small budget organization and we receive no municipal or county support. We totally depend on donations to keep up our good work. We accept all donations of food, bedding, litter, or anything else that folks like to give us. Of course, monetary contributions are very much needed and are fully tax deductible.
